Filing the FCC form 160 -
CORES
Registration
If you don't already have an FCC Registration Number (FRN) then you
will need one to file a form 605 with the FCC. To get an FRN you have
to file a CORES Registration request (form 160). You can get the form
at:
You will only need to print the first page (the actual form). The rest
of the document is the instructions. For my simplified instructions use:
These instructions are tailored for the amateur service and should be
easy to follow. Once you have the form filled in mail it to the FCC
(see instructions for the address) and wait for the FCC to mail you
back your FRN.
Note: These instructions are written for the September 2005 version of
the 160 form.
